Gum Graft
Gum grafts are an excellent solution to gum recession, or gum loss around a tooth. If not properly treated, gum recession could lead to unfavorable cosmetics, sensitivity, and ultimately tooth loss.
Our board-certified periodontist utilizes the same cutting-edge techniques and principles for these procedures as he does when teaching the dental residents at the Augusta University - Department of Periodontics.

First, the gums around the receded area are carefully opened up. Then a gum graft, taken from either from the roof of the mouth or from a donor tissue, is transplanted into the area. The gums are stitched together, and healing will be complete in about 2 months.
